FAQ's

Who are Buying Solutions?
Buying Solutions is the national procurement partner for UK public services. It was established in 2001 as a result of the Gershon Report, through a merger of the procurement functions of the Buying Agency and CCTA. They are an Executive Agency of the Office of Government Commerce in the Treasury.

The primary role of Buying Solutions is to maximise the value for money obtained by Government departments and other public bodies through the procurement and supply of goods and services.

As the only Professional Buying Organisation with a legal remit to trade across the whole of UK public services, Buying Solutions is the smart choice for public sector procurement, enabling organisations to deliver improved value for money and efficiency.

Buying Solutions facilitates the buying process in a vast and highly complex marketplace, providing access to and services for a diverse customer base spanning the biggest central government departments, NHS Trusts and local councils, through to the smallest schools.

How do I hire staff from the framework agreement?
You firstly need to decide whether you need to hire a temporary work-seeker or whether you want to employ a work-seeker on a fixed term employment contract (i.e. you become the employer). Tell us you want to use the framework agreement and give the details of your requirement, preferably using the authorised Temporary Staff Request Form (we can provide you with this if necessary)

Who manages the framework agreement?
The framework agreement is managed by Buying Solutions. Buying Solutions works to ensure that suppliers (Employment Businesses and Employment Agencies) deliver services as contracted and supports organisations having any difficulties. But you choose who works with you.

What if I want to take on a temporary worker permanently?
You can normally avoid paying any extra fee to a supplier if you take on one of their workers permanently - just ask us about this!
